Two Active, Republican Women Getting Ready for 2014

SAVANNAH, GA February 28, 2013 – The political season in Georgia is already heating up for the 2014 election.  Elizabeth (Lis) Overton and Rachel Dodsworth are ready to get their boots dirty and lead the party on the principles of consistency, transparently, and thoughtful dialogue. Both of these experienced and enthusiastic women are running for positions in the Chatham County Republican Party to put their experience, skills, and time to good use.

Lis Overton is running to be the Chairman of the Chatham County Republican Party. Lis is a strong candidate with proficient leadership experience and strong connections with all of the Savannah area Republican clubs. She was the past President and Fundraising Chair of the Savannah Area Republican Women, the second largest women’s group in the state. She currently is an Executive Committee Member of the Chatham County Republican Party and County Chairman of the 4th District. Lis’ enthusiasm and experience will provide the party with a leader that will devote as much time is needed to get the job done.

Rachel L. Dodsworth is running to be the First Vice Chair. Rachel is an active, life-long Republican supporter who is passionate about politics and community efforts. She works everyday to advance the GOP’s online presence, communications, and fundraising. Rachel often takes the time to teach local Republicans about social media. She has helped propel numerous Republican candidates into office by increasing online fundraising, developing branding and communications plans, deploying marketing campaigns, and analyzing results. Rachel’s positive attitude, strong networks, diplomacy, and desire for civil discourse will provide the party with fresh, diverse leadership.

Together these women will listen to others and openly work to boost membership, fundraising, training, communications, voters registration, community relations, and hold consistent meetings for all to attend. Their election is March 9th at the Chatham County Convention.
