A judge said Monday she will visit a troubled Ogeechee Road rental property Oct. 29 to see first hand the efforts of owner Russell Steven Varnadoe to comply with city of Savannah ordinance requirements.
Varnadoe has been before Chatham County Recorder’s Court Judge Claire Cornwell Williams since August as she pushes him to correct electrical and related ordinance violations at the Arbor Cottages property at 3314 Ogeechee Road.
As of Monday’s session, Varnadoe has completed seven units with four more expected to be done this week.
All seven have been occupied, but the remaining units are vacant as work continues.
“That’s improvement,” Williams told Varnadoe. “So we’re actually making progress.”
Williams said she wanted to see for herself the progress being made.
