GAINESVILLE – A man in the insurance business plans to offer what he calls a reasonable look at issues as he runs for Gainesville City Council.
“I have a very similar view of the majority of the population on just a reasonable look at the issues out there, not a hard line view one way or the other, kind of a common sense approach if you will,” Sam Couvillon said.
Couvillon announced his intentions to run at a Gainesville Kiwanis Club meeting earlier this week.
“I’ve always enjoyed standing around the water cooler talking about today’s issues, and instead of just being one of those people talking about what needs to be done, I decided to jump in with both feet.”
Couvillon is running for the Ward 1 post on the council. The current Ward 1 councilman, Danny Dunagan, has announced his intent to run for mayor.
