County employees are set to pay more in monthly health insurance payments after a scheduled vote today of the Floyd County Commission.
Commissioners meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave., for their caucus. The regular meeting begins at 2 p.m.
The commission is scheduled to vote on a resolution setting the employee health insurance rates. If approved, employees insured through the county will pay 5 to 10 percent more starting next month, said Gary Burkhalter, the county’s finance director.
“Premiums have been constant for the last two years,” Burkhalter added. “This would be the first (increase) in three years.”
