Rep. Lindsey keeping state House seat during federal campaign – Reporter Newspapers

A recent change to the 2014 election calendar is prompting candidates for Georgia’s 11th district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives to reconsider staying in elected office.

State Rep. Ed Lindsey, R-Atlanta, said he will remain in the General Assembly as the representative for House District 54 while he campaigns for the seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey, who is leaving office to run for U.S. Senate. One of Lindsey’s opponents, state Sen. Barry Loudermilk has decided to resign in order to concentrate on the congressional campaign.
