Political Notebook: Dubose Porter leads in race for Democratic Party Chair? | Politics | Macon.com

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that DuBose Porter of Dublin took 51.5 percent of the vote in a highly informal straw poll at a Democratic Party of Georgia forum for chairman candidates. Porter is a former state House minority leader and former candidate for governor. Also running are R.J. Hadley, former state Sen. Doug Stoner and former state Sen. Mary Squires.

The election to replace the former chairman, Mike Berlon, is set for Aug. 31, with members of the state party’s executive committee voting.
