COLQUITT, GA (WALB) – Miller County Sheriff H.E. “Buddy” Glass drowned when the golf cart he was riding apparently fell into a pond behind his home.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge of the Thomasville office Steven Turner says Sheriff Glass had heart disease which investigators believe prevented Glass from being able to get out of the water.

The GBI findings are based on an autopsy performed Monday.
