CONSERVATIVE LEADER, COMMUNITY SERVANT ANNOUNCES BID FOR SCHOOL BOARD
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – Longtime community servant and Republican activist Mark Pettitt today announced his intentions to run for the Hall County School Board, Post Two.
“After learning more about the dire financial situation the Hall County School System is in, I could no longer sit on the bench as our property taxes skyrocket year after year within a point of the state constitutional limit,” said Mark Pettitt. “Through much prayer and thoughtful discussion with family members and campaign supporters I have decided to offer all of my talents and resources to the children of Hall County so that they may receive an even better education than my generation was fortunate enough to receive.”
Pettitt plans to focus on restoring trust and accountability between the community and Central Office by promoting transparency in the SPLOST and general operating budgets. His experience serving on the Georgia Republican Party Executive and State Committees and the Hall County Library Board of Trustees has prepared him to be a conservative watchdog for the taxpayers of Hall County.
“Once elected I will offer an extremely open line of communication through periodic email newsletters and work towards televising Board Meetings on TV18 and stream them online so that the people of Hall County can truly be involved with their school system,” said Pettitt. “The people of Hall County deserve to know elected officials spend our money and I pledge to bring the system into the twenty-first century.”
Additionally, he will work to expand programs of choice and charter academies while creating a technically skilled workforce.
“In order to once again create a vibrant local economy we must produce a workforce that is trained and ready to fill the skills gap that Georgia is currently in,” said Pettitt. “I will make sure that every child has the opportunity to attend a Hall County charter academy that best meets their unique educational needs.”
This announcement makes Mark Pettitt the only announced candidate for the Post Two seat, which is up for election this year.

Longtime community servant? At the ripe old age of 21, is this essentially saying that his resume consists of work done in earning scout badges?
