Bibb sheriff’s office reports increase of 72 crimes in first half of 2013 | Crime | Macon.com

Statistics for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office show an increase of 72 crimes in the first six months of 2013 over 2012 levels.

Property crimes increased from 1,069 reported in the first half of 2012 to 1,128 in the first half of 2013, according to statistics released Monday.

Car break-ins increased from 130 to 182, accounting for the majority of the overall increase in crime.

Sheriff David Davis said three teenagers were arrested last week in connection with a spree of car break-ins.

Deputies are scheduled to meet with law enforcement from other Middle Georgia agencies next week to discuss a ring of break-ins affecting a chunk of the state.
