Sunday is Mother’s Day. I have no idea why they would schedule it so close to Election Day, but there you have it.
Mamba is an adult, female Jack Russell Terrier, who along with her daughter Dottie, was rescued from a South Georgia hoarding case.
She is very submissive, playful and Affectionate as can be! But she also REALLY enjoys being a couch potato cuddle bug!
Mamba is housetrained and crate trained. She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides and playing with toys.
Mamba is available for adoption from Save a Litter Pregnant Dog Rescue, Inc. in Conyers, GA
Sydney is a small mama dog nursing her two puppies Gavin and Garrett in the Barrow County Animal Shelter. A shelter is no place for puppies as they are unable to be socialized to humans, and undeveloped immune systems make them vulnerable to illness, which usually leads to euthanasia.
The little family is available for adoption from the Barrow County Animal Shelter in Winder, Ga.
Buster, whose owner was a veteran and had to give him up because he was moving into special housing, is still available for adoption. Yesterday, we were able to put several interested potential adopters or fosters in touch with Gwinnett County Animal Control, but to our knowledge, he’s still looking for a home.
Luckily for him and for potential new parents, the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is open this weekend, so if you need to meet him, or bring your own dogs to meet him, that’s possible. We suggest calling or emailing ahead of time if you are bringing your dogs to meet him.

Tuesday through Friday – 11:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday – 11:00am to 4:00pm
Front Office Hours:
Tuesday through Friday – 8:00am to 5:30pm
Saturday – 8:00am to 3:30pm
We also had a number of readers who offered donations, and I believe I was able to respond to all of them, but in case I missed you, here’s our posture now. Once we learn of a rescue group that is interested or has pulled him, we’ll let you know how to donate for Buster’s care. We’ll also let you know if we learn that he’s been rescued by an individual. Thank you for your concern and your willingness to help.
Help a human family
A friend of a friend mentioned on Facebook the other day that a family whose nearly-4 year old daughter has been diagnosed with a terminal illness needed a carrier for her, as she’s losing the ability to walk on her own. Then this happened:
[S]omeone unknown to me or the Frys, purchased a new Ergo carrier for Lance and Lindsay so they can carry Harper. These things will make day to day life more comfortable for Harper and easier on Lance and Lindsay. Amazing things happen when we join forces! Thank you, God!
