Dixie Dog Rescue Needs Your Help Today

Dixie Dog Rescue saved these two Lab mix puppies in the nick of time before they were euthanized at Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, but they have both come down with Parvo and Dixie needs your help to pay for their vet bills. I support Dixie Dog Rescue because they pulled my hound dog Dolly from Gwinnett County Animal Shelter on the day she was to be euthanized because a dog in her area came down with Parvo; they had a donor who paid for Dolly to spend two weeks in quarantine at a private kennel.

Large, unforeseen vet bills are one of the challenges any rescue group faces, and it’s a risk they knowingly undertake. This is a way we can help them save dogs.

Gwinnett County Adoption Explosion

Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is currently full and having to euthanize to make room for new intakes. To help as many dogs and cats as possible, they’re discounting adoptions to $40 cash for dogs and cats and kittens for $30 or 2 for $40 cash to cover vetting.

Katy above is a female hound dog, looks like a Treeing Walker Coonhound or Foxhound to me, and her time is short at the Gwinnett Shelter. The volunteers think she’s housebroken, and I can tell you from personal experience that hound dogs make great pets, especially for active owners or families.

Boone above is another hound dog mix, a young male at Gwinnett County Animal Shelter. From the scars you can see that his muzzle was wired shut, but he has a good heart and friendly disposition.

Chatsworth, Georgia Group Transport

A group of volunteers trying to help dogs get out of Murray County Animal Shelter in Chatsworth, Ga is raising funds to move 14 dogs to a shelter in Maryland. The cost for vetting and transportation is about $135 per dog or $1890 total.

So please cross post and share everywhere for donations, and make a small donation if you can, so the costs can be covered and the doggies can be on their way to a new life.
