Adoptable Dogs in Georgia for March 20, 2013

Jack Russell Terrier fans, this is your day, as Fannin County Animal Shelter has the above litter of JRT mix puppies available for adoption. Fannin County Animal Shelter does not charge adoption fees, though dogs are required to be spayed or neutered.

Fannin County also has this litter of what they call Labs, but are almost certainly Hound dogs.And speaking of Hound dogs, here’s a Treeing Walker Coonhound who is in the custody of Fannin County Animal Shelter. Prized as hunting dogs, Coonhounds also make great companions in the home, and are especially good for runners as they’re athletic, fast, and thrive in an environment that offers them regular exercise.

Duke (above) and Miley (left) are a boxer mix and a beautiful cream-coated Golden Retriever who were picked up by Walton County Animal Services, and their owner surrendered them rather than picking them up. That means no mandatory hold time and they could be put down first.

They’re good-natured dogs, and bonded to each other, while Miley had some issues with another female dog, that could be due to the stress of being in the shelter.

Duke is heartworm positive, while Miley is heartworm negative and on preventive treatment. No word on whether they’re already fixed. Duke is 5-6 years old and Miley is 4. You couldn’t ask for a better-looking pair of dogs than these two.
