SAVANNAH – We’re on the road, so this will be short:

We’ve got very reliable information that DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown, who came to the job a dozen years ago after his predecessor was assassinated, is doing some serious tire-kicking on a 2014 Democratic challenge to U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson of Decatur.

Johnson, first elected in 2006 when he defeated incumbent Cynthia McKinney in a primary, is now in his fourth term.

We understand that Brown has told close friends that he’s being pressed to consider the contest – by whom we’re not sure.
