WARNER ROBINS — A new mobile app allows Warner Robins residents to report city issues from any Apple device, Mayor Chuck Shaheen announced Monday evening.

At the end of a City Council meeting full of relatively standard agenda items, Shaheen talked about the Citizens Request Tracker that allows residents to report light outages, potholes and any other complaints to the city.

Joe Segreto, the information technology director who helped set up the app, said a report will be sent to his department and be disseminated to the appropriate department for the problem to be corrected. The app is not available for Android devices.

At precouncil, council agreed to remove a proposed bid for playground equipment from the meeting’s agenda. Purchasing agent Kim Demoonie said she suggested one bidder because it was the lowest, but Recreation Department Director James Dodson recommended a different bidder because its equipment was more in line with what he was seeking. But council members worried the process may have seemed unfair, so they asked for it to be rebid with the descriptions Dodson actually wanted.
