Villa Rica wants input on downtown parking issues – Times-Georgian: News

A meeting will be held today at 2 p.m. in downtown Villa Rica’s Holt-Bishop Justice Center to discuss parking in the area.

Downtown Villa Rica has seen changes in the last few years, such as the construction of the Mill Amphitheater, that have changed the landscape of the area. Future projects might include a renovated city hall and at one time there were talks to put the new library downtown.

Villa Rica Mayor J. Collins said it’s important to get citizen input when discussing public areas.

“Anyone who has thoughts on downtown parking, how that can be tweaked and improved, your time to come forward and give your input will be this Thursday,” he said.

The Villa Rica City Council is discussing a new five-year plan for the city that will last through 2018. The council discussed ideas such as making Montgomery Street one-way and even the possibility of adding a parking garage.
