MARIETTA — The county has narrowed the list of which project management firm will represent its interest in the construction of the new Atlanta Braves stadium down to a final four.
At the Tuesday morning commission meeting, Cobb commissioners voted 5-0 to approve the final four: Heery International out of Atlanta; Brailsford and Dunlavey out of Washington D.C.; Legends Project Development of Herndon, Va.; and PC Sports of San Antonio, Texas.
Interviews were held last month with firms that were ranked based upon an evaluation of staffing, experience and performance, approach, availability and local vendor presence and financial stability, according to William Tommie Jr., the county’s purchasing director.
Commission Chairman Tim Lee said the project manager will represent the county’s best interest by monitoring invoices and making sure budget, permit and ordinance compliances are being met.
“They’re going to make sure they (the hired builder, American Builders) do everything as expected and to make sure everything is being done to standard, plan and budget,” Lee said.
