Service, leadership at the heart of Deal inaugural prayer gathering

Interfaith service will include messages from religious leaders statewide

Religious leaders from around the state will invoke messages of service, generosity and stewardship at Gov. Nathan Deal’s second inaugural prayer gathering. The Deals selected 1 Peter 4:10 as the theme for the service: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

“This Scripture verse has special meaning for Sandra and me and we’ve tried to live by it,” Deal said. “Service to God and one another will continue to be at the center of our lives as we embark on the next four years and it’s appropriate to begin the inauguration with that reminder from our religious leaders across the state.”

Dr. David Cooper, Mount Paran Church of God, Atlanta
