ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) – Atlanta’s street vendors are planning to protest outside of City Hall on Monday.
Late Sunday afternoon vendor Larry Miller could be seen selling Braves gear on private property near Turner Field.
He told CBS Atlanta News that he’s had to pay a hefty fee to do so since April.
That’s when the city of Atlanta started enforcing a new ban on vending on public property.
“This private property thing is not working out. But this is all we can do right now,” said Miller.
Miller and members of the Atlanta Vendors Association are hosting a luncheon on Monday to garner public support.
The group is banking that their guests will follow them over to City Hall for a 12:30 p.m. rally and protest.
“We want to show the City Hall and the mayor’s office that the people are behind the vendors. We do have support from the public.”
