State lifts suspension on radar use by Danielsville Police Department | Online Athens

The State Department of Public Safety has lifted a 60-day suspension on the use of radar by the Danielsville Police Department, Police Chief Brenan Baird said Wednesday.

The state suspended the city’s radar permit on July 3, but Baird filed an appeal and the suspension was lifted, allowing the city to run radar again beginning today.

“We might get a chance to run some radar (Thursday), but I don’t know that for sure yet,” Baird said. “I’ve been spending so much time behind the computer trying to get the department into the 20th century. The 21st century is next.”
