RN-T.com – SAT scores show success at local schools

Rome and Floyd County school superintendents said Thursday they were pleased by the SAT numbers released by the state.

Students at Rome, Armu­chee and Pepperell High School topped the state and national SAT averages this year.

Rome High School scored the highest at 1562 and Pepperell High School averaged 1553.

“We are incredibly excited,” Rome City Schools Superintendent Jeff Bearden said. “When you look at the numbers, it’s very impressive.”

He said more than 50 percent of the graduating high school class takes the SAT now.
