RN-T.com – Georgia’s quality rated programs recognized by Gov Deal

ATLANTA – Parents have a new way of finding the best childcare programs in Georgia by relying on the state’s new rating system that Gov. Nathan Deal and his wife unveiled Tuesday.

Early learning and childcare services that have gone over and beyond the state’s licensing requirements were acknowledged at the Capitol.

The state awards daycares that submit to evaluation one, two or three starts based on information the centers supply and observation. The facilities also have to include an outline to show ways they intend to raise their quality of instruction.

A state website allows parents to see information on any programs participating in the quality rated system. In future years, they’ll be able to see which programs are improving.

“It takes a lot of people working hard to raise a child, and it takes more than one person,” said Sandra Deal.

She also thanked the programs for participating in the quality rating because they are helping the children successfully progress in school, which will be reflected in their future careers.

There are more than 1,300 daycare centers involved in the program.
