RN-T.com – Civic Center now open for early voting in advance of Nov 5 election

Rome and Floyd County voters who want to cast their ballots before the Nov. 5 elections have two general precincts to choose from.

Voting machines will be available through Nov. 1 at the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave., or the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive.

Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All precincts will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Two local option sales tax proposals are on the ballot: the $85 million education ELOST extension and the $65 million countywide SPLOST package.

A countywide vote also is scheduled on Sunday alcohol restaurant and package sales in the unincorporated area.

Rome residents will fill three City Commission posts and all seven school board members.

Cave Spring voters will decide two contested City Council races.
