The proposals have been have been turned in by area governments, various organizations and residents. The list is expected to be put before voters in November.

Rome Assistant City Manager Sammy Rich said one of the projects included in the 15 submitted by the city is the Tennis Center of Georgia at Berry College.

“If there is a project that specifically embodies the spirit of what SPLOST is all about then this is it,” Rich said.

Originally proposed four years ago to include 82 courts and cost an estimated $18.7 million, the complex would be built on 30 acres donated by Berry College that sit along the Armuchee Connector near Mount Berry Square mall.
