Bolstered by good weather and a full pool, Lake Lanier enforcement officials were kept busy over the holiday weekend with boating incidents and citations.

On Lanier, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Law Enforcement Division reported 10 boating under the influence citations and two boating incidents with two injuries over the Memorial Day weekend.

In its report Monday night, DNR said there had been two drownings, 39 boating under the influence citations, six boating incidents and five boating-incident-related injuries over the weekend across the state.

One of the drownings occurred Monday in a private pond in Coffee County, DNR said. The other was in Augusta Canal on Sunday.
