Nixon announces county BOE bid | ForsythNews.com

FORSYTH COUNTY — Amanda Nixon has announced her candidacy for the District 1 post on the Forsyth County Board of Education.

“Education is the foundation and cornerstone of a great community and a great economy,” Nixon said. “It is my hope to bring my enthusiasm, perspective and experience as a parent, child advocate and financial manager to our school board.”

Nixon will face incumbent Ann Crow, who is seeking a fourth term on the board, in the May 20 primary.

A graduate of Kennesaw State University, Nixon has lived for six years in Forsyth County with her husband Sean and daughter, a sixth-grader at Liberty Middle School.

“The schools were our main reason for moving here,” Nixon said. “Forsyth is one of the best school systems in Georgia, but there remains work to do. We need fresh minds and active parents helping lead us to even greater success.”
