Georgia Democrat Michelle Nunn is preparing to air her first ads of the 2014 Senate race after a Republican outside group began attacking her on TV earlier this week, multiple media-tracking sources said.
Nunn has reserved airtime in the Atlanta area currently beginning Thursday, according to Republican and Democratic strategists tracking the air war there. The full size of the buy is not yet available.
The move to start running television commercials comes after a national conservative group, the Ending Spending Action Fund, unveiled anti-Nunn ads tying her to President Barack Obama and the Affordable Care Act. The Wall Street Journal reported that Ending Spending, which is funded by billionaire GOP donor Joe Ricketts, is putting about $150,000 behind the ads.
