One of Jimmy Carter’s grandsons might try to follow in his footsteps and run for governor of Georgia.
State Sen. Jason Carter has commissioned a poll to study a race next year against Republican Gov. Nathan Deal, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The newspaper reports Carter is testing the waters, “given recent events,” such as the role Deal’s office played in picking a new state ethics chief and his resistance to President Obama’s health care law in Georgia.
