ATLANTA (AP) – State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says as many as 400,000 Georgians who buy their own insurance could receive cancellations notices or have their plans modified as a result of the Affordable Care Act.
Hudgens’ spokesman Glenn Allen said Wednesday the figures are based on internal estimates and there’s no way to tell how many could have their policies cancelled outright.
Allen couldn’t say whether those losing their health plan can expect an increase or decrease in premiums under a different plan.
