Gwinnett Daily Post | Input begins for 2014 sales tax projects

LAWRENCEVILLE — With a vote now set for Nov. 5, officials are looking to the public for help in determining the projects that could be built with $498 million in special purpose local option sales tax funds, which will be considered in the referendum.

A citizens group will begin meeting Monday to prepare the project list for the $275 million the 2014 sales tax program could bring in transportation dollars over three years. And a series of sessions have been set for people to sound off on how they hope the nearly $6 million earmarked for senior services is spent.

Last month, residents selected a team of representatives from six major interest groups to serve on the transportation project selection committee.
