The GAGOP just sent out a presser touting a “Petition against the implementation of Obamacare,” but probably actually intended to harvest your email address when you sign the petition.
This was a great idea. In 2009. When John Oxendine did it in his campaign for the Republican nomination for Governor.

GAGOP LAUNCHES ONLINE PETITION AGAINST
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OBAMACARE
(Atlanta, GA) – The Georgia Republican Party launched an online petition yesterday opposing the implementation of ObamaCare in Georgia. Residents throughout the state are encouraged to sign the petition to help send a clear message to Washington lawmakers that the President’s healthcare overhaul is not welcomed in the Peach State.
“Much was said about the Affordable Care Act as it made its way through Congress in 2009,” said GAGOP 1st Vice-Chairman Michael McNeely. “Speaker Pelosi said we had to ‘pass the bill to see what was in it,’ Washington Democrats hissed at Republican lawmakers calling them ignorant obstructionists, and President Obama promised quality, accessible care at an affordable price.
“But like John Adams said, ‘facts are stubborn things’ and the truth about the impact of ObamaCare in Georgia is crystal clear. According to Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, rate payers will face unprecedented increases in their insurance premiums, some paying almost 200% more. It is abundantly obvious now that President Obama knowingly betrayed the American people and we are running out of time before ObamaCare is fully implemented in Georgia.
“The GAGOP encourages our friends and neighbors in Georgia – regardless of political affiliation or political apathy – to sign the petition and help send a clear message to our nation’s Capitol that we reject ObamaCare and demand immediate repeal. The clock is running out. Now is the time to make your voice heard.”
