Nunn Stays Mum on Tax Day
As Georgia families spend countless hours and millions of dollars today filing their taxes, Michelle Nunn has been pretty much mum when it comes to her stance on taxes. Since she refuses to let Georgia voters know where she stands when it comes to the federal tax rate and the mess that is our federal tax code, let’s look at the facts.
Michelle Nunn is a Democrat, and Democrats Want to Raise Taxes
I know she’s doing her best to keep this a secret, but Michelle Nunn is a member of the Democratic Party. She has only ever voted in Democratic primaries. She has donated money to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John, Kerry, and Mary Landrieu. And she’s running for the US Senate on the Democratic ticket.
The Democratic Party supports raising taxes to pay for more government spending. For example, President Obama’s 2015 budget proposal includes $1 trillion in new taxes. Yep, you read that right. That is trillion with a T. And let’s not forget the mother of all tax increases: Obamacare. The Democratic Party overwhelmingly supports this terrible law that is hurting Georgia families and Georgia businesses. Michelle Nunn herself supports the law and some of her largest donors, like liberal super PAC EMILY’s List and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), are big-time backers of the law.
Michelle Nunn Takes Money from People Who Want to Raise Taxes
A quick glance at Michelle Nunn’s donor list will let you know that most of her biggest donors support the Obama agenda of increasing taxes on American small businesses and family farmers. In addition to EMILY’s List and Harry Reid, billionaire Warren Buffet, who famously came out in favor of higher taxes in 2012 donated $5,200 from his own personal bank account. Sure, that might be chump change for Buffet, but it’s the maximum amount an individual can donate.
Michelle Nunn Thinks Tax Increases Should Be “On the Table”
The only time she has discussed taxes, Michelle Nunn has stated that revenues should be “on the table” to reduce the deficit. Revenues, by the way, is what Democrats call tax hikes in the hopes that it sounds nicer. In other words, Nunn wants to raise your taxes to pay for more government spending. She can try to claim that she wants revenue-neutral tax reform – but at the end of the day she still wants that tax reform to include tax increases.
While she desperately tries to hide where she stands on the issue of taxes like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, it’s clear Michelle Nunn is nothing more than a true blue liberal Democrat, who will be a rubber stamp for the Obama agenda of increasing taxes and increasing federal spending if she’s elected to the Senate. So this Tax Day as you are writing that check to Uncle Sam, think about how much higher it would be next year if Democrats like Michelle Nunn had their way.
