It Is Time For A Balanced Budget And The FairTax

This administration is out of control with spending and has used the IRS to force its own political agenda. It is time for a change. As tax day has come and gone, it is time to rethink our outdated tax system. Buddy Carter supports meaningful tax reform. The FairTax and a balanced budget amendment would put America back on track.

“Americans work hard and deserve better than a federal government who uses an activist IRS as its collection agency and watchdog,” said Senator Buddy Carter.  “It is time to abolish the IRS and adopt The FairTax. This will both simplify the tax code and ensure that revenue is captured from those individuals that are currently not paying their fair share.”

“Additionally, America must balance the budget. During the 2014 legislative session, I supported the Compact For A Balanced Budget.  This is the first step to adding a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution,” said Carter.

If thirty seven other states pass the identical language, the Balanced Budget Amendment will become constitutionally binding, thus law of the land. With Georgia taking the lead in passing this legislation, Georgia would chair the meeting of the states where the final approval would be authorized.
