State Rep. Ed Lindsey, one of four Republicans in the 11th District congressional contest, over the weekend announced that he was quitting his state Capitol job as House majority whip. An election to replace him will probably be scheduled for this fall.
Lindsey said he would keep his Atlanta district seat through next year.
