Cherokee Tribune – Animal shelter contestant in national ASPCA Rachael Ray 100K Challenge

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter will be a contestant starting Saturday in the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge.

The $100K Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters and their communities aimed at getting more animals adopted or returned to their owners than ever before.

Cherokee County Animal Shelter has enlisted the help of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services in their fight against pet homelessness to gain community engagement in hopes of winning a special $25,000 prize.

Each department has created a T-shirt to sell during the three-month contest to raise funds and gain support for the animal shelter. The T-shirts are on sale at Cherokee County Animal Shelter until the end of August and are $10.
