Ms. K has been a mother, wife and recovering addict — the last of which threatened to tear everything else apart.
Now she can add that she’s a graduate of the Chatham County Juvenile Court’s Family Dependency Treatment Court and its programs to reunite children and families in a sober, caring environment.
She is one of five recent graduates of the court that Judge Patricia Stone launched in January 2008. In 2012, it was selected as a National Peer Learning Court by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Children and Family Futures — a model court that interacts with other treatment courts nationwide.
It is one of nine such courts in Georgia.
