When I wrote in this morning’s news:
So if you’re headed downtown to qualify for the seat, I think you’ll need two checks, each for $400. One will be made out to the Georgia Republican Party and must be certified funds. The second can be a normal check that will be written to Georgia Secretary of State.
I’ve been informed that “You cannot legally qualify for both elections. Only independent candidates will qualify in the general special election.”
Wait, what? Here’s what I’ve got so far from the SOS Office. I’ll update it as the fog lifts.
“Eligible voters [in Senate District 30] will request a ballot for the Special GOP Primary on November 6th.
Because this is a Special Election on January 8, signatures are not needed for independent qualifying.”
