Adoptable (Official) Georgia Dogs for December 15, 2021

Jake is a male Hound mix who is available for adoption from Hands to Paws Rescue in Augusta, GA.

Jake is a five-year-old Hound mix and weighs about 45 lbs. He came from a hoarding situation, but he has been nothing but gentle at his fosters house. He has scars on his face and we aren’t sure how he got them. Jake is extremely smart, sweet and loves his time outside. He loves his treats (and takes them very gently), likes to play with toys and chew on bones. Jake walks okay on a leash, but it takes him a bit to settle into it as he is not walked on a leash regularly. Due to his previous living conditions, his foster thinks he has never been in a home, therefore, not housebroken. He is reactive to other dogs in the kennel environment, so would do best as an only pet.

Roxi is a female Terrier mix who is available for adoption from Hands to Paws Rescue in Augusta, GA.

Roxi is a brindle and white Pitbull mix and weighs about 40 lbs. and was an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. Her previous owner had to move to an apartment and Roxi’s breed was restricted. She is a friendly, sweet, outgoing girl that wants lots of love and to snuggle next to her human. When Roxi arrived, she would not get on any furniture. Now, she is starting to get on the couch for love time. During her time with her foster, Roxi has been nothing but a little love sponge. She plays with toys, will play fetch, and is good outside. She gives lots of kisses, will sit for treats and knows a couple commands. She is good with walks, baths, car rides and most children. Roxi would do best in a home where she is the only pet or with a male dog. She is very female dog aggressive. Roxi is terrified of storms and needs to be kept inside during them or she will dig out of the yard.

Harley Quinn is a female Terrier and Labrador Retriever mix who is available for adoption from Hands to Paws Rescue in Augusta, GA.

Harley Quinn is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to play ball and runs and leaps like a deer. She had a rough beginning in life and came from a situation in a neighboring county that was quite harsh. She spent time in a small cage and was made to breed. She had one small puppy with her when we first met her and she was understandably anxious and nervous. Given her past circumstance she is nervous around other dogs so a meet and greet will be necessary. She has not been around young children, so children aged 8 and up will be best and we’re not sure about cats. She just needs love, patience, and understanding.
