Adoptable Georgia Dogs for November 18, 2013

Angels Among Us is one of the largest and most well-run rescue groups in Georgia, and occasionally they’ll choose a dog just because of the story behind it.

This sweet 8 month old female Shepherd mix was found running through the streets with a Great Dane puppy and taken to animal control. Turns out they were from the same household, and the owners were located. The owners came to the shelter and reclaimed only the Great Dane puppy – they said they were leaving this girl behind because she wasn’t as pretty as their other dog. So this poor sweet soul watched her fur sibling leave with their family – can you imagine the heartbreak and confusion she must have felt?

To make matters worse, this shelter had a parvo outbreak late last week, so this girl was scheduled to be euthanized on Friday because she was in a nearby run to the puppy that got sick. The wonderful shelter advocate at this animal control got her a 24 hour reprieve but sadly, no rescues or adopters came for her.

On Saturday, the shelter advocate literally pulled this girl off the euthanization table and took her home for the weekend to try one last time to find rescue help. Once again, no rescues have come forward. So here we sit, on Sunday evening, with this dog scheduled to be euthanized once again tomorrow. We are literally her last hope.

We don’t know how much we need at this point because we don’t know whether or not she’ll break with parvo. If she does, it will cost us thousands in hospitalization bills.

This young, male Boston Terrier was found stray and will be available for adoption beginning Wednesday, November 20th from the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter.

Millie is a 5-year old female dachshund who is available for adoption from the Barrow County Animal Shelter in Winder, Ga.

Liam is a 3-4 year old Hound Dog, looks like a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix to me. These hound dogs make wonderful pets, especially if you have a runner in the family. Liam is available for adoption from the Barrow County Animal Shelter in Winder, Ga.
