Merry is a young male Great Pyrenees who was saved from a shelter, along with his brother Pippin, below. Both of these gentle giants are available for adoption from Great Pyr Rescue of Atlanta.
Great Pyrenees Rescue is a breed-specific rescue group that was formed to address the large number of jumbo-sized dogs that were finding themseleves in shelters, and which many traditional rescue groups had trouble saving because of their size.
If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs, a great way to learn if they’re the breed for you is to talk to the folks at Great Pyr Rescue on one of their show-and-tell days. GP Rescue will be at the Dunwoody Petsmart, located at 128 Perimeter Center W, Atlanta, GA 30346 on February 1st, 22d and March 15th from 11 AM to 1 PM. You can also apply to foster a Great Pyr as a trial run for adopting.
