Adoptable Georgia Dogs for May 22, 2013

These Great Pyrenees pups are 12 weeks old and weigh about 15 pounds each. They are available for adoption from the Murray County Animal Shelter in Chatsworth. It’s inconceivable, but they’re likely to be euthanized this week if they aren’t adopted immediately.

These pups are Cattle Dog/Terrier mix puppies about 8 weeks old and 7 pounds each. They’re also urgent at the Murray County Animal Shelter.

Nine of the search dogs with “paws on the ground” in Oklahoma were rescued from shelters, including these two first responders. The National Search Dog Rescue Foundation helps recruit rescue dogs and pair them with emergency response agencies, deploying dogs and handlers to major disasters across the nation, and as far as Japan. Thirteen of their dogs responded to the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11/2001.
