Adoptable Georgia Dogs for May 20, 2015

Dove! She is a Blue Heeler (mother was full blooded) Black Lab (father was aslo full blooded) mix around 7 months old. She was part of a an accidetal litter and unfortunately her mother passed just two days after they were born due to complications with the birth. The whole litter then had to be bottle fed until they were old enough to switch to puppy food. She and her two sisters that were place in homes through the rescue were all adopted but unfortunately Dove was returned because her family no longer wanted her.

Blue Heelers, also known as Cattle Dogs, are a working breed and so are labs (the father in a hunting dog and the mother was a farm dog). This means that Dove really needs a home that will giver her structure and a job to do which could be something as simple as fetching a ball. She would probably do awesome on a farm. Dove wants to please and is very intelligent. Her foster has started teaching her some basic commands such as sit, down, and place to start giving her the structure she needs which she learned all three very fast!

Ellie is a full-blooded female Treeing Walker Hound. She has been fully vetted and is a sweet sweet girl. She LOVES being with people and is pretty active but enjoys being lazy too. She can jump up to at least 5 ft. but doesn’t not try to jump a fence. If you ever wanted a true hound dog, she is your girl. No squirrel will ever stand a chance. But on her down time, you can find Ellie sunbathing on a lawn chair. Ellie would be an amazing family dog or hunting dog!

Oreo, aka Odie, is a very sweet and smart Blue Tick Hound mix. He is just over a year old and fully vetted.

Oreo is house and crate trained. He will need an owner that can show him who is in charge because Oreo is very smart and can be a little bossy. He is a really goofy dog and his personality is something else. He would make a great family dog with a little bit of structure, he often thinks he is not a dog. Oreo loves to run, play, and ride in the car and go places.

Striker is a very friendly and loving Senior male Plott Hound. You would never guess his age because this boy acts so young. He is currently in a foster home with 4 children and loves to play and cuddle with them. He is good with other dogs and cats since he has both in his foster home with him! Striker just wants to cuddle on the couch and be a love bug for the rest of his days.
