Adoptable Georgia Dogs for July 10, 2013

We’ll begin this morning with some dogs who got away. Seventeen dogs who were to be euthanized in Murray County Animal Shelter in Chatsworth, Ga were transported to a rescue group in Maryland, where they’ll be fostered until adopted.
In order to save these dogs, volunteers had to cover their vetting and expenses to the tune of $2310 and they’re raising money for those costs.

Dutchess is a female Basset Hound mix, who is available for adoption from the Zoo Crew in Greenville, Ga. Her daddy was a Basset and mama was half-Basset. She is crate-trained, used to living inside, and up-to-date on her vet care.

Faith is a hound-mix puppy, approximately 2 months old and available for adoption from the Zoo Crew in Greenville, Ga.

The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is still holding their Adoption Explosion, where dogs may be adopted for $40 cash and cats for $30 or 2 for $40.

“32799” is a female hound dog who needs a new home from Gwinnett County Animal Shelter as soon as possible. If you live in-town, you can tell everyone, “why, yes, she’s a very refined Foxhound,” while country folk can call her a Treeing Walker Coonhound. The volunteers at the shelter say she’s friendly, and I can tell you from experience that the hound dog temperment and personality make them great pets.

Sammy is a male Shepherd/Rottweiler mix in the Walton County Animal Shelter who had a brush with death yesterday. He was almost certain to be put down due to overcrowding at the Walton County Animal Shelter, when by a miracle, enough dogs were rescued to give them a little breathing room.

This is the time of year when shelters are overflowing every day with new dogs, and that usually means large numbers are euthanized. Anything you can to to adopt, rescue, or support those organizations who save animals will make a difference today.

Save Our Souls Animal Rescue in Claxton, Ga is in a financial tight spot as several rescues of litters of puppies from roadside and dumpsters over a three day period last month led to overwhelming vet bills.
