Adoptable Georgia Dogs for December 17, 2013

On this date in 2007, former Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives Tom Murphy died, having served 42 years in the State House and 28 as Speaker, making his the longest tenure of any State House Speaker in the United States.

On December 17, 1902, Orville and WIlbur Wright took the first flights in an airplane at Kill Devil Hills at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

Our favorite dog rescue group, Dixie Dog Rescue, is in tough financial straits due to several expensive veterinary bills. They’re a small group, but they save lives of dogs across Georgia. Because they have a soft heart for senior dogs, they’re occasionally hit with higher than expected initial vetting costs.

Please consider an online donation of as little as $2, $5, or $20 to help them continue saving dogs this holiday season.
