A crazy cat lady friend found two kittens and asked for our help in finding them homes. From her email:
My best guess is 5ish weeks old. They are eating wet and dry food and are hardly skittish at all anymore. The first one has more pink on its nose and hazel eyes, the second one has darker blue eyes but other than that pretty much identical. They are atill very tiny — I can cup my hands together to hold a whole cat. Free to a good home, will drive within reasonable distance from Ball Ground.
This dog, who looks like a Hound to me, was found stray in Henry County. According to the Good Samaritan who took him in, he is super sweet, very calm, seems submissive to dogs but is way too interested in cats.
He is not fixed, and seems good with dogs and wants to play. He is very interested in cats – he has not been aggressive in any way just very playful. He is maybe 1 year or less. Maybe weighs 40lbs. He doesn’t seem to have been worked with. He doesn’t chase a ball, but does throw a stick in the air. He does not know basic commands. He is super people friendly. He was found in parking lot of American pie and gas station in locust grove. I put signs up and posted on Facebook but have heard nothing so far. We are taking him to vet tomorrow so I may have more information for you.
The person who found him is seeking his owners, or a new home; they can host him for a couple days, but can’t have him stay permanently because of their cats.
If you’re interested in adopting or fostering this boy, email me and I’ll put you in touch.
Angel and Cody need an immediate foster! Both dogs are fully vetted. Angel is a senior pit/lab mix and Cody is a young pit mix. Both are super sweet! They are in Atlanta at the moment, but we can arrange transport anywhere. This is an emergency, please help if you can! Call Carrie at Dixie Dog Rescue, 912-537-9307, if you can foster or adopt.
This time of year, shelters are overflowing, and even puppies are being euthanized regularly because they’re out of space. If you’re unable to make a lifetime commitment today, but want to help and would be willing to foster a puppy or adult dog, consider Angels Among Us as a foster placement agency (they also help cats). These sweet little pups were rescued by Angels and need foster homes.
Fostering through a rescue group can also be great for folks on a limited income, as most foster agencies pay for the vetting and your only costs are kibble – some even provide dog food. Click here to learn more about fostering a dog or cat through Angels Among Us.
Yesterday’s edition of Adoptable Georgia dogs also includes four sweet dogs who need a home as their owner is moving into a senior care facility. If you’d like to help them stay out of a shelter, where they would likely be euthanized, take a look at these beauties and email me to be put in touch.
They are all spayed, up-to-date on medication and vetting, and living together happily, so they get along well with humans and with other dogs. The descriptions were written by a person who knows the dogs and is trying to find them a home.
Angie is a Black Lab mix female who is very active and loves to run. She likes to play and be loved and is quiet but protective. She is the baby of Babygirl. She needs some training but loves her crate. She will go in and sleep, its her safe place. I help deliver this puppy and she was not breathing when she was born.
Sugar was found walking out of the woods near a Walmart. She is sweet and loving. We call her chunky monkey. She likes to play and then she loves sleeping in her crate. She is potty trained.
Babygirl was thrown out of a moving car. When I finally was able to catch her, she was pregnant and had puppies that have been taken to a rescue. She is a boulder once on a bed she loves to sleep and eat and and is potty trained.
Dora was found at the Macon unemployment office laying on the sidewalk. A man walked over her and when I gasped he said she was dead. I looked again and instead of going in. I picked her up and ran to the vet. She is heartworm positive but is on medicine. She is fixed and has her shots. She is loving and very sweet and big lap dog. She also has her bordatella shot for kennel cough.
