The Nov. 5 municipal elections are approaching and early voting begins Monday. Residents of Senoia, Moreland, Grantville and Sharpsburg will vote for members of city council or a new mayor.
Residents in Newnan’s District 1 will choose a new city councilman. Those who live in other parts of the city of Newnan can vote for mayor, but there will only be one name on the ballot — longtime Mayor Keith Brady.
Also in the Nov. 5 elections, residents of the city of Palmetto will vote on whether or not to allow package sales of alcohol on Sundays.
Early voting for the Coweta elections is held at the Coweta Voter Registration Office in downtown Newnan. The office will be open Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon for early voting.
Early voting for the Palmetto referendum will be held at Palmetto City Hall.
Early voters, like all voters, must present a photo ID. There are a variety of IDs acceptable, including a Georgia Driver’s License, even expired, as well as a valid U.S. passport, valid military or tribal photo ID, valid work photo ID from any branch of government (such as a school system work photo ID), or a state Voter ID card that can be obtained for free from the Voter Registration Office.
