Chatham County District Attorney Meg Heap has been appointed to a Georgia House working group on a proposed comprehensive reform to the state’s asset forfeiture law.
The appointment by House Speaker David Ralston puts Heap in a group that will make recommendations the House Judiciary Committee by Jan. 12. to strengthen and support the efforts of police agencies but also protect the rights of Georgia’s citizens.
