Your daily jolt: Moral Monday protests coming to state Capitol | Political Insider | www.ajc.com

Numerous outlets are reporting that state Rep. Mike Jacobs, R-Brookhaven, will have a primary challenger in the form of Catherine Bernard, a member of the GOP’s libertarian wing – who unsuccessfully challenged Michael McNeely for first vice chairman at the state convention.

This weekend, Jacobs welcomed the Dublin import on Twitter, but also posted the following on his Facebook page:

The 2014 election cycle is at hand. My primary opponent tweeted this yesterday, quoted from another source (but she agrees): “I like Israel, but I’m going to stop sending them my money. They don’t need it, they can defend themselves.” I am proud to stand behind an American foreign policy that stands behind Israel. Period.

PeachPundit is also reporting that Alex Johnson, another liberty caucus member who ran for state chairman this year, is contemplating a challenge to state Sen. Fran Millar, R-Dunwoody.
