The Reindeer Gang is an annual Telegraph feature that identifies individuals and families with needs during the holidays. Donations to Rob Wilson Jr. can be made at American Legion Post 3, 5530 Thomaston Road, Macon, GA 31220. After-hours donations may be placed inside the flag retirement box near the front entrance. Rob Wilson Jr. hawks newspapers under a red tent every Sunday at the corner of Bass and Bowman roads.
Wilson is there from early morning until the sun goes down. He gets to keep 50 cents for every newspaper he sells near the entrance to the Bass Plantation shopping center.
He has loyal customers who stop by every Sunday to purchase The Telegraph. He wears his old military jacket and a cap that reads: “Veteran: Operation Desert Storm.”
