Unemployment at 8.6% in metro Atlanta – Atlanta Business Chronicle

Metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate dipped to 8.6 percent in July, the Georgia Department of Labor reported.

The rate here was 8.8 percent in June and 9.3 percent in July 2012.

The rate dropped as 15,945 more people became employed in July when compared with June, pushing the number of employed to 2,538,968.
