MURFREESBORO — New Rutherford County Republican Party Chairman Jeff Peach seeks to give voters a positive message.
“Part of the mission or vision that I like to express is that people are more interested in what you are for than what you are against,” said Peach, who won election to be chairman at his local party’s convention Feb. 23.
Peach gave an interview with The Daily News Journal this past week at his party’s headquarters on East Main Street near the Public Square.
Q: What are your goals as the new leader of the local Republican Party?
Peach: There are several goals. One of my main goals is to grow the party in number as well as in participation. There are so many voters in Rutherford County who share our principles, and sometimes they may not how to become involved. That is where I would like to see us as a party do a better job at reaching out to the citizens and expressing our desire for them to join us and become a part of the local party. We would love to have folks to become involved in the party. Other than serving in public office, becoming active in the party is the best way to have influence on who your elected leaders are for each office.
